Ms. Chan joined D4 Urban in September 2016 as its Controller to oversee the finance and accounting functions and brings over 20 years of finance, accounting, reporting, strategic planning and budgeting.
Prior to joining D4 Urban, Donna spent 13 years in multi-family, senior housing and affordable housing real estate companies such as The Laramar Group, MBK Senior Living, and LNR Property Corporation. She oversaw a wide range of accounting/financial functions for companies with over $500 million in assets. She was responsible for internal and external monthly, consolidations, quarterly and annual reporting, internal and external audits, acquisition underwriting, annual business plan, monthly forecasting, all the day to day accounting, and accounts payable functions. She developed key performance indicators to assist senior management with operational oversight. She was instrumental in facilitating successful in-house transitions from third party management to integrating new acquisitions to disposing of assets.
Additionally, Ms. Chan spent 6 years in public accounting with Ernst and Young and Grant Thornton in their audit and tax practices. She supervised, planned and performed financial statement audits and reviews for clients in the real estate, manufacturing, and banking industries, both publicly and privately held. She also reviewed and prepared multi-state REIT, Corporation, S Corporation, Partnership, Individual, and Fiduciary income tax returns during this time.
Ms. Chan is a Certified Public Accountant and received her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
